My Ugandan Neclace

My dear friend Cissy from Uganda taught me how to make these beads out of paper. In Uganda the mother's of the patients at the hospital where she worked would make thees beads as they visited with their sick children. They  made them into necklaces and earrings and could sell them to tourists to help pay for their children's medical care.

These beads were made of a poster for a local Cinema

  1. I was totally going to make those with Sofie today for Valentine's Day, but I don't have any paper (other than white printer paper) and too lazy to heft my girth out to the store or to Moms. Anyway, kind of funny, these ones are way darling!
