Fun new stuff!!!!

I made a bunting for David and Dawnell to go in their Toy Room and put some of their new curtain fabric in it. but as soon as I got closer a stupid hornet stung me. I was such a baby so here it is....

  I put in some Minnesota Material (I got at a yard sale with my little brother, he took me there since there was fabric and notions. I got so much great stuf, Bias tapes galore and gingham.) I totally had to add a little bit of this great Michael Miller Bicycle fabric to their bunting that I got for my friend in Madison who is having a baby girl. Whoaaa run on hu?  I'm going to miss My little brother and his family a lot. Hopefully we can spend Thanksgiving and Christmas together.  

The old AWESOME 70's orange curtains now fun stipes. My little brother bought this fabric and forced me to make curtains. He painted his basement and we brightened it up.  I'll show you before and after pics when they are up. 

 This is the most darling fabric I found out here and come to find out this is from Sarah Jane Studios a Utah LDS girl!  cool!!!

 pulled these fabrics over some frames and stapled them down.  Thanks Laura for letting me borrow your staple gun!  you can't see it very well but this fabric says, "Just Stay Little". 

 We can't hang things on the walls here so we'll wait until we get to Madison next week. 

 Here are the girls new pillows. Jess's is the cute parade material and Kate's is the pinwheel material.  

Kate's Quilt top and other fun stuff.

I'm so in love with Kate's houses. These were her darling drawings!

I decided to make different squares for each of the corners.  This quilt was so much fun!

I'll post more when I finish. I'm going to hand quilt  this one. Kate's going to pick out the minki tomorrow (it's on sale). 

I used my darling cousin Jenn's pattern and material to make this darling cowgirl square  for my niece Suzy.  She just had a fun horse birthday. Here is a little quilt for her horse.  

Ok the truth is I have a little addiction with garage sales around here.  They have them all summer, every day, even mondays and we live near Utopia with these perfect "Stepford Wives Houses" so the stuff at the sales are awesome!!!   Cutest measuring spoons and bundt pans.  

I made my dad these fun towels out of this Italian Fabric.  I made him three and sent him home with two, I HAD to keep this one, look at the cherries and the cyclist.  Love it!  

We got this 70's iron at a n estate sale and it is the best iron I have ever had. It heats up right away and is so heavy. We love it. Spencer actually irons shirts and pants, I ONLY Iron when I'm sewing.

Minki Bibs are fun fun fun

Don't you just love Minki?  I buy it on sale out of the remnant bin at Joanne and Hancock.

I've been making these for the girls in our church that are having babies and it is really so fun

I've made 12 or 13 of them but I messed up about 6 times before I got it right.

This is my friend Petra's quilt. I think the colors are so pretty. I had to show it off.  

Who is inspiring my new projects?

I am so excited to know how to make these, I used to buy them for my family and friends.

I found a ton of fun minki in the remnants at Joanne and I bought a couple yards of blue and pink and dug out green and yellow from my fabric stash. I learned how to make them from my friends darling sister-in-law Kate (love the name) from Swim Bike Quilt  She is amazing and so inspirational to me. Speaking of Kate- We showed the Royal Wedding Pictures to Kate online, she was so enchanted about a real princess named Kate. (and on that same note, wasn't her gown so beautiful and modest? I love that!!!!)

Kate has been drawing houses lately. So I showed her this quilt out of my favorite quilt book 

 Material Obsession

 I said if she wanted to keep drawing houses I would copy them with fabric and make a quilt like that.  She drew these and we cut out the fabric and sewed a little house. She was so excited, she drew a door knob with a permanent marker. I put it up on my inspiration wall.  I usually put up the dates for the quilt squares and quilts that are due for Margarets Hope Chest 

 She was so excited about it that she drew me this Fancy House-apartment style like our house.  Wow!!!  I'm wondering how to quilt that one.

Jess and I found this darling quilt store just outside of Madison. It was a sunny day down an old farm road, I was in Heaven. (best pic I could get-Darling Logo right?)

I saw this darling reproduction fabric from the 30's and 40's we HAD to get it for Kate's House Quilt.  These prints remind me of....

my great grandmas's star quilt pieces with fabric FROM the 30's and 40's. Some of them are so similar.

I'm so happy when Spen gets pictures like this. (Kate is in her darling Easter Dress from Grandma Di). She really only likes to do a little on the bindings. It's really boring for her. I'm opposite. It's my favorite part of any quilt.

More Pupcakes

One of my darling friends asked me to make her some "Pupcakes." They are not perfect but I was flattered. 

I found that cute Lime Green sweater at the goodwill. I made the cherries on top with wool felt from a local farmer's lambies.

Jess calls Cupcakes, "Pupcakes". I saved these old sweaters and I srunk them and tuned them into Pupcakes for the girls.

My Mother-In-Law made this beautiful quilt for me for Christmas. The colors were perfect!!!  I love turquoise!

I made this olive-leaf wreath for my dad with all of his Maternal Ancestors!  I'm NOT an artist but it was fun to do the research!

Sunday found Mamma with a Kidney Stone so I sat on the couch making Christmas gifts for our cousins (can't post pics that would give away the surprise) and a Mermaid for the girls!

Gifts for the Gals I Visit Teach

  My cute friend Angie inspired me to make something out of felt. We had a girls night out and made these cute skeletons for Halloween (I'll post a pic later). So I decided to make the "Three Little Piggie" set for one of the girls I Visit Teach.

I also teach this amazing woman who's husband has a really aggressive cancer. I wanted to make her something for the season. They didn't expect her husband to live more than a couple months but the seasons keep changing and he is fighting with so much Faith. They are a HUGE inspiration to me.
