Beebs Scarf!

I made a scarf for one of the ladies I Visit Teach and another for Beebs. I haven't been very good about taking pictures of gifts I have been giving lately. I'll do better. 

Car Time Crafts

This worked out great! My sister Kathy gave them treats and toys for their trip. They were so excited when the got in the car.

I finished the bag. The roof was way too hard so I improvised. I added Rick Rack and the cow bow. I got some of the animals done. The girls love the lambie the best. I still have four more animals. I'll add their pics as I finish them.

Eugenia taught me these stars before I left. I am making a quilt out of these. I have thirteen stars done and am finishing the borders currently.

I finished Kate's quilt....phew. I ran out of thread in IOWA, got some more at a store and finished as we drove Into Dane County (our new County).

My new project. Kate and Jess wanted these hats now that they are Badgers. $20 each, ummmm I'll make them.

I made this one on our trip to see the Amish today. Jess's is almost done.

I couldn't find Jess in a fabric store and there she was playing in the Minki Fabric. "So Cozy" she said.

We found this old torn down barn and I ram and stole some barn red planks. *The Sheriff lived across the street, I ran so fast. We'll make some cool frame out of it.

The Circus is still coming to town!

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE a Party! I have a billion ideas rolling around my head for Father's Day. I have had so much fun doing something almost every-day for Kate's birthday this whole month.

I made fun clown hats for the kids. My mom picked up like a hundred little candy clowns and sugar sticks at Pepermint Place in Alpine. Their seconds are so cheap. I think she got 100 candy sticks and the clown and a cake topper for like $3.

I made Kate a Special Princess Birthday Clown Hat! We have had tons of people RSVP. Kate is going to die when she sees what we give her. She can't even sleep lately she is so excited for her party.

This SERIOUSLY tastes just like Cracker Jacks. My friend Melanie gave me the recipe for the carnival birthday and I tried to color it purple-NOT good!) but without the food coloring it is PERFECT:

7-8 c. popped popcorn

3/4 c. packed brown sugar

6 tbsp. butter

3 tbsp. light colored corn syrup

1/4 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. vanilla

(peanuts to make it into crackerjacks!)

Remove unpopped popcorn. Put popcorn in a very large baking dish or roasting pan. (I have one you can use). Put it in a 300 degree oven to keep it warm. Make caramel mixture by combining sugar, corn syrup and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and continue boiling at a moderate, steady rate without stirring, for 5 minutes more. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour over the popcorn and stir gently to coat. Bake in 300 degree oven for 15 minutes; (maybe add peanuts here?) stir. Bake 5 more minutes. Spread caramel corn over a large piece of buttered foil to cool. (I didn't butter and it was fine... maybe a light spray of "Pam"?) Store tightly covered for a week. It hardly lasts a day here! I cut the time a little because there were a few that seemed to be burning slightly.

Today was day #2 of Kater's Dance Camp. It was Lilo and Stitch! I made her this little tutu and curled her hair. My cute friend Petra gave me this Lei from Hawaii. Kate is such a cute little dolly.

The Pirate's dress (given to me by my sister) needed something.......

Christmas in May

It snowed a ton today, but look what came in the mail

THIS humongous package from Jenny FULL of YARN, to die for colors and textures.

Seeing that it was Christmas, Kate asked if I could get the winter clothes out of the attic.....

Kate had commandeered my purse so I made her one of her own. It was fast and fun!

Precioso para Mi!

This pic I stole of Eugenia helping me fix my purse with my girls and the girls she watches. This picture is so PRECIOUS TO ME!

Es Mi FAVORITA!!!!! I don't even know if my Spanish is right. My project bag is done. Eugenia made the Leaves and the Big Flowers and I made the rest, can you believe it? I undid this project so many times. Now I'm on to Spencer's Great Grandma's Quilt Replica. I am ADDICTED.

Kate's Pillow Case Dress, not the best, but it's my first attempt and she LOVES it! I showed her how I made it out of a pillow case and Jess's out of my shirt and she said, "Your a good Maker Mom" :)

"I want to eat up the World"

I made some booties, they didn't turn out perfect for a baby but I knew the dress-up bear would like them.

My sister Suzy gave us some mini-sunflowers and here they are! their little plants sprouted up. YEAH!
My niece made this and it is perfect, I keep it by the sink and clip their bows and flowers on it instead of on my shirt when I find them on the floor.

Stuff

My sister's Apron, her Birthday is on Cinco De Mayo it's one of my 11 siblings b-days I DON'T forget.

Macaroons. You have to know I haven't had any candy or treats made of corn syrup for 3 weeks (except for small bits of dessert at parties and mother's day celebrations). I LOVE coconut and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chocolate so I got these great Natural Coconut Flakes and to my great Happiness the chips we are addicted to (mostly me and Spen, we sneak them for treats at night) Ghittard...are the most natural version of chips we have found so we are stikin to them.


this a picture that Hannah this cute 7 year old I watch took of the strawberries I was cutting up. I LOVE our new way of eating-you know the way Heavenly Father wants us to Eat and LIVE and for an Italian American girl who loves to bake. I am thrilled to be eating Whole Foods and enjoying Food instead of processed chemicals. I asked Kate what healthy foods to we should put on our list for shopping tomorrow and this is her list................
Apples
Grapes
Carrots
Cherries
Strawberries
Cantaloupe
Pickles
and the candy treat with fruit that you put in our church bag (fruit leather)
That is the best list I have ever heard. She's such a great girl. I am happy that the girls are adapting to this new way of living and I think they will enjoy living in Madison for all it's Farms and the Amish and Farmer's Markets.

This is Spencer's Great Grandma's Quilt and I am going to replicate it. It has 14 colors with 12 blocks of each color. I took the pics to Eugenia and she made a pattern. So we'll get started soon. I am still working on the cutest bag and the booties. I am loving Crochet soooo much.




This was Eugenia's Mama Day present from me to hold her Ganchos (crochet hooks) in. It was fun and easy.

I'm HOOKED!

My darling Mexican neighbor Eugenia has been teaching me to crochet and I LOVE it!!!! She doesn't speak much English and I don't speak a lot of Spanish but we have fun sitting on the porch ganchillo-ing. I feel like quilting and crocheting are very calming. My mind has been so busy with so many thoughts lately and this calms me so much! It is a great anti-anxiety medicine.


This is a headband I made for my Sister-in-laws graduation gift.
The green one is a little rug I made for the girls barbies. It was my practice for the large rug I'm going to make. The purple on is part of a quilt I'm going to replicate of Spencer's great grandmothers.
The top is the bootie I bought and the bottom is the bootie Eugenia is teaching me to replicate.
A fun color flower for Kate's winter hat (Wendy Hunter made for both my babies when they were born).
Her it is...................my sister Jenny's Mother's Day present. She is such a mother to me. I decided to start giving her Mother's day gifts this year. The fabric I've been dying to get and use but it was a little pricey, I found a remnant at 50% and came home, fished through our grandma's old fabric she gave me (The real Vintage stuff you can buy replicated) and there was this perfect Grosgrain fabric-pastel tiny roses with little polka dots....It was screaming Jenny's name. FUN FUN FUN

We saw a darling butterfly garden in a toyshop. We got some butterflies and came home and made one over Jess's tiny bed. She says, "Goodnight Butterflies."


I"m making gifts for my Mom and Mother-in-Law and something special for Eugenia and a b-day gift for my sister (she asked for an apron)..... Keep a watch out. ciao
